Article Readings # 21: STILL IN EDUCATION : A COMMITMENT TO ADVOCATE REFORM ON A NEW STAGE

REACTIONS:

It is then our vision and mission to provide the best educational system in our country. We always find ways and alternative remedies in providing and improving our country's educational system, a system that promotes excellence and competence among our teachers. However, the main factor that has been observed and learned in the educational reforms precisely in promoting and providing quality in teaching is the teacher himself. How could we expect quality teaching to a teacher if he is bombarded with all the financial constraints.Absolutely, he could no longer perform well in the classroom. He could no longer provide effective learning materials to his class. For us to have the quality education, we must have also quality teachers. A teacher who is excellent and competent. A teacher who has masters degree or even doctoral degree or if not, has attended various and thorough seminars and trainings in education. Sad to say that only few teachers can have these trainings and seminars that would provide better promotions because the fact is, they are far from the centers of powers. They are fugitive to those who remain unnoticed by choice, by association or by the department itself.

Now, it has come to my mind that even though we will provide plenty of programs, trainings and seminars that would enhance the quality of education but still we cannot attain or achieve the rue and genuine objective, goal or mission and vision in education if we will not totally change the system of our education. To have quality education, we educators must be true, sincere and dedicated to our field of endeavor.
