Article Readings # 29: WHAT MOTIVATES CHILDREN TO LEARN

REACTION:

The article on "What motivates children to learn", speaks of the different motivational stimulus a person has. I totally agree to the author as no single person has the same learning motivation as much as no single person has the same fingerprint.

Based on the above premise, great challenges are posed to teachers as teaching style cannot be confide to a single scheme of motivation. As the author pointed out that the some are visual learners, some kinesthetic learners and some are auditory learners.

Teachers should adapt a multi-scheme motivational approach in imparting a learning objective to achieve the goal of understanding and application.

Teachers should study the individual characteristics and attitudes of the students. The output would bethe basis of approach in motivation. To respond to this, the students number per classroom should be at most twenty-five as according to Keppland, a famous motivational practitioner that an individual has the capacity of only twenty-five objectives.

With only twenty-five students, a teacher can focus on the quality of teaching, applying the suitable motivational approach for each student.
